The Importance of Podcast Market Research and How to do it
One of the biggest things I see podcasters get wrong when launching a podcast is that they don’t do their market research. Through this research, you can set up your podcast for success and set it apart from your competition. That’s why this week, episode 22 of Listeners to Leads is about the Importance of Podcast Market Research and how to do it!
In this episode of Listeners to Leads, I’m sharing the importance of market research for your podcast and actionable steps you can take right now to show up differently from your competitors.
I also chat about the following:
- What is market research for your podcast, the different sections you need, and why it’s vital to a successful podcast.
- Why you need to determine the purpose of your podcast before you can perform market research, and how it helps you complete the research effectively.
- How to analyze competitor podcasts for title, content, and style, and understand the difference between a competitor and a direct competitor.
- How to determine good topic ideas based on other podcasts in your niche, without copying someone else’s work, and make sure it aligns with your podcast purpose.
Without the market research, you won’t be able to determine what makes you different from your competitors. By doing this limited research and coming at it from the mindset described in this episode, you’ll have a successful podcast from the start.
